Jim’s professional career began in radio. He started his career as a local radio host for WSVA. Following that, he went on to work for WMAL in Washington, D.C. He began his television career as an assistant at WTTG-TV after leaving radio.
In 1994, he made his television debut as a substitute anchor for WBIR Tv in Knoxville. Costa later worked for KTVT TV and WBBM. His first big break came when he worked as a correspondent for CBS News from 2001 to 2003.
