About

Drew Barrymore‘s breakout role came a lot earlier than it does for most stars. At the age of 6, she played Eliot’s younger sister in Steven Spielberg‘s 1982 hit film E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.

Despite a troubled upbringing (including alcohol rehab at the age of 13), Barrymore went on to star in countless hit films like 1996’s Scream, 1998’s The Wedding Singer, 1999’s Never Been Kissed, 2000’s Charlie’s Angels and 2009’s He’s Just Not That Into You, among others.

The actress started a production company, Flower Films, in 1995 with Nancy Juvonen (who later married Jimmy Fallon). In addition to making many movies where Barrymore has been the leading lady, the company is responsible for Donnie Darko (2001), Whip It! (2009) and How to Be Single (2016).

In March 2021, Barrymore announced an indefinite hiatus from acting, but she hasn’t stopped working. The actress started hosting The Drew Barrymore Show, her daily talk show, in September 2020. She wrote 2021’s Rebel Homemaker, a cookbook with chef Pilar Valdes, and launched several product lines, including Flower Home, Flower Eyewear, Flower Beauty, Flower Kids and Flower Hair Tools.

Barrymore has been married three times. First, she said “I do” to restauranteur Jeremy Tomas for two months in 1994 before filing for divorce. Then, she tied the knot with comedian Tom Green from 2001 to 2002. She married Will Kopelman in 2012 and they divorced in 2016.

Kopelman and the entrepreneur welcomed daughter Olive in September 2012 and daughter Frankie in April 2014.
